Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry
Born in Philippines and immigrating to California at the age of 3, I grew up a cradle Catholic, as many Filipino Americans do. I grew up in a charismatic ministry with a heart for praise and worship, building the young church, and service to the poor. During this time, I was also blessed to have been a Catechist for my home parish in the diocese of Stockton, St. Bernard’s in Tracy and got to travel for youth ministry; conducting confirmation retreats, facilitating workshops for youth leadership and music ministry, across several dioceses for the past few years. Some of these events for our Sacramento Diocese include Unplugged, NorCal OnFire Jam, Fired Up, and Ministry Days.
I previously worked in the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for our Diocese as the Campus Minister at the Sacramento Newman Catholic Center, across from CSUS where I am completing my undergraduate degree in Communication Studies. Prior to working for the church, I was a behavioral technician where I fostered my love for helping the youth grow. I love composing songs/prayers on my free time as well playing table tennis, which we can do at the parish hall!
Being new to the community and team doesn’t detract from my excitement and joy to begin programming for both Edge and Lifeteen. I am looking for parent/young adult volunteers to help assist with the programs. Please contact me if you have any questions. No help is too small! Whether it’s sponsoring/donating food for an evening or assisting with chairs/set up; the young church needs support if they are to thrive and engage society proudly as Catholics!
