Divine Mercy

Welcome to St. John the Baptist Parish's Divine Mercy Ministry


Members practice trust in Jesus and mercy to others by prayer, word, and deed, and spread the teachings of Divine Mercy. The Divine Mercy is a Roman Catholic devotion focused on the mercy of God and its power, particularly as a form of thanksgiving and entrusting of oneself to God's mercy.

Divine Mercy Mass

Takes place every third Monday of the month in the Divine Mercy Chapel. The event starts with praying of the rosary, chaplet. Confession is at 6:00 PM and Mass starts at 6:30 PM. 

Works of Mercy

Members bring food donation to the Divine Mercy Mass and distribute it the next day to the homeless at Loaves and Fishes in downtown Sacramento. Members visit those in need of prayer, especially the sick, dying, and prisoners. The chaplet is prayed every morning after the 8:15 AM Mass, on the first Saturday of every month in the Adoration Chapel, and then again every Thursday at the Cenacle. 

Feast of the Divine Mercy

Novena preparation and celebration of the Feast starts from Good Friday to Mercy Sunday. Novena is led by different parish ministries followed by a presentation of their work in the parish.

An image of the Divine Mercy and Our Lady of Guadalupe are passed around to different homes to foster prayers in families.


Divine Mercy Study

A 4-yr study also known as Faustinum Formation. It takes place every third Monday of the month at 7 PM in the Garden Room, SJB Parish Center.
