Filipino Mass Survey
Catholicism is deeply intertwined with Filipino history and culture and is more than just a religion but a central part of the Filipino way of life. The Filipino Apostolate Ministry of St John parish provides a way for the
Filipino community to continue celebrating their unique Catholic faith traditions as they did in the Philippines, and be able to pass on these traditions to the younger generation of Filipinos. Here at St John, wecelebrate Simbang Gabi, the Feast of the Sto. Niño (Sinulog Festival), Feast of San Lorenzo Ruiz and the Feast of San Pedro Calungsod.
To promote a much deeper connection with our cultural faith traditions, by celebrating the Eucharist as a community, the Filipino Apostolate Ministry is proposing the return of a monthly Filipino Mass. This Mass
will be held on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 1:30 p.m. The Mass will be conducted in the Filipino language (Tagalog), the national language of the Philippines and the most widely spoken by Filipinos. English and
other major dialects will be included in the hymn and parts of the liturgy. Fellowship meal will follow after the Mass to strengthen community bonds and maintain a sense of home away from home.
With this in mind, the Filipino Apostolate ministry is conducting a survey to gauge the interest of establishing a monthly Filipino Mass. Please complete the survey by answering the questions below. Your participation in this survey is greatly appreciated.
